Tesco Automated Recycling Bin

This is first Automated Recycling bin I have ever seen. There is only one hole to place your bottles in and the machine sorts and place the rubbish in the correct section. This recycling bin even talks to you.

I use this bin and I really don't like it. Typically I recyle a bin liner full of plastic bottles in one trip. Tesco's used to have a skip where you had to "post" the bottle through holes; this was OK but a bit time-consuming if you have a lot of bottle at once, like I do. The automated bin is far worse--there are only two holes, and each one takes several seconds to process one bottle. If there is no one else waiting I use both holes at once, but it still takes me 5 times as long to recyle my bottles. It is enough to make me think about chucking them in the dustbin instead.

Effectively this automated bin is making the consumer do the work previously done by the recycling centre.
